Community Basics
Claim your public @username, post in the global forum or your club's board, and understand the conduct and reporting rules.
Overview
The community forum has a global side (categories at Community) and a per-club side (each club's own message board on its club page, open to that club's active members).
Claiming your @username
You need a public @username before you can start a thread or post a reply anywhere in the community. The first time you try to post, you'll be prompted to claim one instead of seeing the usual composer.
- 1Your handle must be 3-20 characters: letters, numbers and underscores, with at least one letter.
- 2Reserved handles (like admin, moderator or official) and offensive terms are rejected; pick another.
- 3Once claimed, your @username replaces your real name on community surfaces (forum, club boards, player profiles).
Changing your username later
You can change your @username afterwards, but only once every 30 days, counted from your last claim or change.
Posting in the forum
Open (unlocked) global categories accept a new thread from any verified member; locked, announcement-style categories only accept new threads from community admins. On a club's board, active members can start a discussion thread, while a club announcement needs the club's community-admin level.
You can edit or delete your own posts at any time. Deleting a post is a soft delete: it stops being shown, but it isn't permanently wiped.
What you get told about
- 1A club announcement reaches every active member of that club in the app, not just the first handful, so nobody misses one because the club is large.
- 2Announcement email is grouped: you get at most one announcement email per club every six hours, however many are posted in that window. The in-app notifications are never grouped, so the club page is always the complete picture.
- 3Replies in a thread you are following are in-app only. Email is kept for the one case worth interrupting you for: somebody replying directly to your own post.
- 4All of it is yours to turn off per channel under Preferences, and the community, club-message, announcement and reservation emails link there.
Community rules and moderation
If you see something that shouldn't be there, use the Report option on the post. Reporting doesn't remove the post itself; it flags it for a moderator to review.
Note
The automatic offensive-term filter only applies to choosing a username, not to what you write in posts. Post content is kept in line through reporting and moderator action (hiding posts, locking threads, or banning repeat offenders from a board), not automatic filtering.
